The skin is the largest organ, covering the entire exterior part of our body. It protects all the other parts of the body and it is because of it that we look beautiful. There are many skin care tips out there, but taking care of your skin is actually very simple. All you need to know is what to do and what not to do to yourself to have a healthy skin.

WHAT TO DO.

1. Go organic

The most important of all skin care tips is to use organic skin care products. It is unfortunate that many of the skin care products we have in the market today are made of chemicals. When you apply a cream on your body, it goes through the hole on your skin and straight into your blood stream, which means you are somehow eating it. When you use chemical based skin care, toxins and chemicals in it find their way into your body and cause serious health complication. However, you should never trust a product right away. Check the label or the website of a product to be sure that their claim of “all natural” ingredients is true. Your food consumption should also be organic. Eating good food with fiber will make your skin shine.

2. Work out

Regular exercise will not only help you get fit, it can also help your skin to shine better, by naturally expelling dangerous toxins from your body. These toxins that have been accumulated through sedentary lifestyles and processed foods are automatically expelled from your body when you sweat.

3. Get good sleep

Getting sufficient sleep is one of the most important skin care tips you must obey. We live in a stressful world, and stress is one of things that kill our skin, making it age quickly. Six to seven hours of sleep everyday will help you overcome stress, and make your skin look healthier.

4. Drink plenty of water

Water is the primary solvent in the human body. For you to have a healthier skin, you must consume about 8 to 10 glasses of clean drinking water every day. Water helps your skin by washing out harmful toxins and impurities. Water also helps to keep your skin moisturized by bathing your skin cells.

WHAT NOT TO DO.

1. Avoid excess smoking and drinking.

This is at the top of the “don’t do” skin care tips list. It has been proven that the toxic elements in cigarette and alcohol are very harmful to the skin. It is no more news that excessive smokers are expected to age prematurely and expect wrinkles and skin discoloration early in their lives. So, if you want to have good skin, quit smoking and drinking.

2. Don’t over expose your skin

Watch how much time you spend in the sun. 10 – 15 minutes in the sun each day is enough to get your vitamin D. Too much exposure of your skin to the sun will expose it to the dangerous UV radiation which may lead to numerous skin problems including skin cancer.
